The last few years I’ve had the privilege of performing at a Christmas house-show with some friends of mine. They always put on a great night filled with music, laughter, mulled-wine & english treats…it also gives me the chance to dig into some ol’ wintery tunes (& work on some new ones myself). One of the songs I’ve performed the last few years is “I Believe in Father Christmas” by Greg Lake. I love the message of the song & this year it seemed particularly relevant. I finally got around to recording a version of it this fall with my good friend & long-time producer Jon Anderson. I also had some time to polish off a version of “New Years Day” by U2…I’ll never forget the first time I heard this song & I’m always drawn to the lyrics this time of year…it also has a theme that I feel is very pertinent at this moment. As well, I finally finished a song I’ve been working on called “Northern Star” (& I worked on a bonus instrumental version of “Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel,” which I originally recorded a few years ago for my “Canadian Winters” album). These four songs make up this new project…shimmering little stars in a Northern Light Sky…you can find them on bandcamp here:

As I write this, a beautiful fall sunset sinks into the Pacific Ocean. My new record is done…it’s been a long time coming, but suddenly the timing seems just right. These are songs of unexpected sunshine in the midst of heartbreak…of dreams coming true and love in times of crisis…of surprising new joys and undeserved grace. This is “Indian Summer Sky.” I hope it brings some warmth to you wherever you are. Check it out on iTunes HERE and also on bandcamp HERE.

I’ve been working on a new album for awhile now and it’s almost done! I’ve just released the first single (Sunshine) on iTunes HERE, and I’ve included the song on my most recent bandcamp EP called “Sketches For Summer.” (There’s also a cover of “Pumped Up Kicks” and an acoustic version of an old favourite of mine, “The Girl With Golden Eyes” on the EP). I’ve really enjoyed working on these songs with producer Jonathan Anderson, and I can’t wait for you to hear the final LP, scheduled for release in the fall. In the meantime, check out my the new single on iTunes, and “Sketches For Summer” on my bandcamp page. Thanks for listening!
